Underclassmen That Notre Dame Football Will Heavily Be Depending On Offensively For The 2024 Season

The defense hasn’t been a problem for Notre Dame for some time. Offense has been the side of the football which simply hasn’t been good enough. That looks to change under offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, who has engineered some impressive offenses over the last few years.

Riley Leonard is going to be a name many people will continue to talk about. The transfer wide receivers will also be another topic of conversation. When you fully break it down, however, it is the youth that could really take the Irish offense to the next level in 2024. It isn't the most difficult schedule but one the offense will be needed to navigate appropriately.

    RB Jeremiyah Love

Love showed flashes of big time ability as a freshman, rushing for 385 yards while averaging 5.4 yards per carry. With Audric Estime off to the NFL, a lot is expected for Love this season. Along with JaDarian Price, they have a chance to be a stellar duo in 2024. Love brings a unique style that Notre Dame seems very high on.

Watching Love gallop with that high-cut running style, while also wearing the No. 12, it’s hard not to get flashed backs of Ricky Waters donning the blue and gold. That’s the type of talent that Love brings to the table. The dynamic ability, along with pass catching upside, brings a lot of possibilities to the table.

    WR Jaden Greathouse

Who is going to be the top pass catcher for Notre Dame in 2024? That is a debate that has been raging this offseason. FIU trashed Kris Mitchell has an argument, as does former Clemson wide receiver Beux Collins. Maybe even tight Mitchell Evans? I mean he was the team’s top option when healthy last season.

There is some optimism that it could be Greathouse, who is healthy and putting together a tremendous offseason. It looked like Greathouse was heading towards a tremendous freshman year last fall but a hamstring injury ruined those plans. The Texas star was still able to lead the team with five touchdown receptions last season but expect him to become a stellar playmaker in the slot this season.

    OT Charles Jagusah

The starting left tackle for Notre Dame is one of the more notable positions of any program in college football. It is typically held down by a future NFL standout, such as Zack Martin, Ronnie Stanley, and Joe Alt. That is an exclusive club that brings a lot of expectations.

Jagusah is set to take over that position, getting his feet wet with a late-season start against Oregon State in the bowl game. After an early struggle in that contest, he recovered quickly. You began to quickly see what once made Jagusah a former five-star recruit, possessing outside feet and flexibility for a player at 6-7 and 330 plus pounds. His wrestling background is also a huge bonus.

    OC Ashton Craig

Outside of Jagusah, offensive guard Billy Schrauth has been getting a lot of talk, and for good reason. People have not been giving Craig nearly the attention he deserves in the preseason. He was a steadying force down the stretch for the Irish and played very, very well.

A gifted athlete from the center position, Craig has filled out his frame very well, now standing at over 6-4 and 300 pounds. There is a world where Craig develops into one of the top centers in college football in 2024. He has that level of upside. Craig has a chance to be a pillar for a very promising offensive line that needs to be developed.
