Washington Township and Indian Lake Schools Celebrate First D.A.R.E Graduation

    2024-05-10

Washington Township, Ohio – The Washington Township police department, in partnership with Indian Lake Schools, is celebrating the graduation of their first-ever D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) class, which involved 96 fourth-grade students. The course spanned ten weeks and was designed to educate the students about making safe, healthy decisions for themselves and their community.

Throughout the program, the students engaged in various activities that taught them the importance of making responsible choices and resisting peer pressure. The culmination of their hard work was marked by a pledge ceremony, where each student vowed to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to lead a healthy lifestyle.

The D.A.R.E program has received support from several key community partners, including the United Way Youth Allocation Grant and the Washington Township Police Officer’s Association. Indian Lake Schools have played a crucial role in this initiative, ensuring the program's success and sustainability.
