Zanesfield, Ohio - On June 11, 2024, at 18:53 hours, deputies responded to a possible domestic situation at 133 Moraine Ridge, Mountain Top RV Park in Zanesfield, Ohio. Dispatch received a call from a female with a male voice in the background shouting obscenities before the call disconnected. The female later confirmed she was with a male named Charlie but seemed reluctant to provide details.

Upon arrival, deputies identified a black Chevy truck in the driveway, registered to Charles Morris JR, who had an active warrant from Union County. Hearing yelling from inside the trailer, the deputies knocked, and the victim, who was identified as the caller, stepped out, appearing unharmed.

Charles exited to speak with the deputies, confirming the argument's non-physical nature and stating his intention to leave. However, upon verifying his identity, deputies confirmed his active warrant. Charles became argumentative, claiming the warrant was being recalled and requesting to retrieve a shirt from inside. When denied, he bolted back into the trailer, despite orders to stop.

Deputies drew their weapons as Charles positioned himself behind the aggressive dogs. After multiple commands, Charles opened the door, releasing the dogs, which deputies believed was an attempt to deter them. Kelsey's nine-year-old daughter was also inside the trailer during this confrontation.

A standoff ensued, with Charles retreating inside, refusing commands to surrender. Eventually, he exited but physically resisted arrest. He was eventually handcuffed and transported to Logan County Jail on charges of Obstructing Official Business, with his warrant from Union County noted.

The case will be reviewed by the Logan County Prosecutor's Office and Children Services.
