Sam Hafertepe Jr.’s first three wins of the season on the American Sprint Car Series National Tour came consecutively in June, and history repeated itself Saturday night. The five-time Series champion led every lap at 81 Speedway en route to his third-straight Feature win and sixth of the season.
Emma Kate McBride named NJCAA Academic All-American
Emma Kate McBride has been chosen as a National Junior College Athletic Association (NCJAA) Academic All-American. The 2023 Weston High School graduate, who now plays for South Arkansas Community College in Eldorado, AR, earned second team Academic All-American status after compiling a 3.90 grade point average during her freshman year.
Man Faces Felony for Alleged Attack on Hospital Staff
JONESBORO, Ark. – A man is being charged with a felony count of battery after a police report alleged he attacked medical workers in Jonesboro. Officers responded after 6 PM on July 19, 2024 to St. Bernards, 225 E. Washington Avenue. The call to authorities reported a disturbance. Officers arrived and were told the suspect had attacked and spat on health care workers, in addition to shouting curse words.

JONESBORO, Ark. — A man who was already in the drug court program was arrested Friday for several serious drug possession charges in Jonesboro. Jason P. Boyd, 45, was arrested Friday night in what began as a routine traffic stop. Police stopped a tan 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe for making an improper turn around 10 PM on July 19, 2024 near the intersection of East Highland Drive and Red Wolf Boulevard.
