Fire damages Jim Thorpe home
A Jim Thorpe home received heavy damage Tuesday evening due to a fast moving fire. Just before 6 p.m. a working dwelling fire was reported at 632 Center St. with flames showing. Fire companies from numerous Carbon County fire companies were dispatched, making a fast stop. Area fire police maintained traffic control at the scene, shutting down numerous streets. Carbon Transit seeks input
Carbon County residents who utilize Carbon Transit are urged to attend a public meeting on Monday that will cover proposed changes to routes throughout the county. On Thursday, the commissioners said that the meeting, slated for 10 a.m. on July 1 at 44 Susquehanna St., Jim Thorpe, is a chance for people who utilize the public transportation to voice their needs and what is needed in the county.
