    Man pleads guilty to shooting near college campus

    LEHMAN TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The suspect who was charged with shooting a man near a college campus has pleaded guilty.

    In May of 2023, 28/22 News reported Zahiar Kevon Lee, from Carbondale , was being charged with shooting another man during an argument at an off-campus apartment near Penn State Wilkes-Barre.

    Investigators say Lee showed up with five other men, including the victim, to a party off campus before the argument began.

    During the argument, the victim punched Lee before being shot in the torso and suffering a punctured lung, officials explained.

    Lee has pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and five counts of possession of a firearm.

    Lee will be sentenced on August 6 at 9:30 a.m.
