Breaking news: Czinger has broken the lap record for production cars at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas with an IMSA-verified time of 2:10.7. The American hypercar manufacturer previously claimed the record in 2021, but then in March of this year, the Texans at Hennessey took the Venom F5 to COTA and shaved just under half a second from Czinger's record with David Donahue behind the wheel. Czinger Vehicles was having none of that and returned on 24 July with a Czinger 21C in Rattlesnake Green, in which Joel Miller set the new quickest time around the 3.41-mile circuit.

The Hennessey Venom F5 is one of several cars in a new class of top-speed kings, with other contenders for the crown including the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut and SSC Tuatara. Neither of these machines has yet topped 300 mph, but we know an attempt is coming for Hennessey and Koenigsegg at the very least. 300 mph might be the goal, but in an ideal world, how fast can the Hennessey Venom F5 really go?
