Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation seeks singers for Assumption Choir

CAREY − The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey invites area singers to join the 2024 Assumption Choir.

The choir, along with a brass quintet, will lead the music for the Vigil Mass of the Assumption, in the Shrine Park, at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 14.

Ssingers, ranging from amateur to professional, will sing a variety of music with a short-term commitment. Rehearsals will be held 4-5:30 p.m. in the Original Shrine Church next to the gift shop on July 28 and Aug. 4 and 11.

As the Bishops of Ohio promoted a statewide pilgrimage to the Shrine, this year’s Mass is expected to have 15,000 or more in attendance.
