Grace High School classmates and sweethearts Lynn and Glenna Rasmussen are honored to be named this year’s Caribou County Fair Grand Marshals.

The Caribou County Fair, set for Aug. 5-10 in Grace, holds a special place in the Rasmussens' hearts for many reasons.

Glenna spent years of her childhood actively involved in the local 4H groups whether it be showing steers, sewing or cooking. She shares some of her fondest memories of how she looked forward to fair week each year and performing at the local rodeos with her cousin Mark Steele.

Glenna can still remember meeting Lynn at the Caribou County Fair and tells how he fell in love with her horse before he fell in love with her.

They continued their friendship throughout high school where Lynn was active in football, basketball and wrestling. Lynn was a member of Grace High School's state champion wrestling team.

After graduation both enrolled at Ricks College, where Lynn accepted a football scholarship and also participated in the wrestling program.

The 4H program always held a place in Glenna’s heart over the years as she continued to help organize 4H trips, send out newsletters and more.

Graduation came for them both again as they completed their education at Ricks College. Before they both transferred to Idaho State University, Lynn proposed and married Glenna.

Both worked hard and earned their bachelor's degrees from ISU.

Lynn graduated in Science and Physical Education, while Glenna graduated in Elementary and Special Education.

Eventually they settled in Lago after making the decision to move back to the family ranch and begin building their family home, eventually raising five children.

Their memories at the fair carried on as their family grew to include 17 grandkids.

Lynn and Glenna have participated and actively supported the fair to keep alive the traditions they so fondly grew up with and pass them down to their children and grandchildren.

The Rasmussens would like to thank the fair board for the outstanding job they do.

Lynn and Glenna said the fair is a great place to support loved ones, see old friends and make some new ones.
