Family Brawls in Court Before Pregnant Teen's Mysterious Death

    2023-12-27
    • Savanah Soto, 18, and her boyfriend Matthew Guerra, 22, were found dead after going missing on December 23.
    • Four members of the Soto family previously attacked Ethan Soto's accused killer in court.
    • Gloria Cordova, mother of Savanah and Ethan, insisted that Savanah would never run away, especially given her brother's death.

In a tragic and complex series of events, Savanah Nicole Soto, a pregnant 18-year-old, and her boyfriend Matthew Guerra, 22, were found dead in San Antonio, just months following a violent confrontation in court involving Savanah's family and the accused killer of her brother, Ethan Soto.

The couple had been missing since December 23, and their bodies were discovered three days later, on the date Savanah was due to be induced into labor.

The backstory of this tragedy involves the earlier death of Ethan Soto, 15, who was shot in May 2022, allegedly as revenge for a drug robbery. During the court hearing for Ethan's accused killer, Victor Nathaneal Rivas, members of the Soto family were seen attacking him, resulting in their arrest.

Ethan and Savanah's mother, Gloria Cordova, expressed disbelief that her daughter would run away, especially considering the family's recent loss. The police are now investigating the deaths of Savanah and Matthew as possible homicides, mirroring the earlier tragedy of Ethan's murder.

Neighbors had reported witnessing frequent arguments and alleged abuse between Savanah and Matthew, raising concerns about the nature of their relationship. The deaths of Savanah and Matthew have left the community and their families grappling with multiple layers of loss and unanswered questions.
