This incident occurred amidst Trump's claims of strong mental fitness, despite a recent gaffe where he confused Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi. Trump, addressing his supporters, asserted that his cognitive abilities are more robust now than they were two decades ago. He also mentioned acing a cognitive test in New Hampshire.

The rally, held four days before New Hampshire's primary, saw Trump focusing heavily on attacks against political rivals, particularly Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis. Trump, leading in the polls, brought onstage a group of South Carolina lawmakers endorsing him. He targeted Haley, highlighting her declining position in polls and questioning her strategy of appealing to unaffiliated voters.

Trump also criticized Joe Biden, calling him the 'worst' president in U.S. history, and reiterated his campaign promises, such as protecting the Southern border. Additionally, he accused Haley of using Democratic funds for her campaign and suggested she would soon be easy to defeat. Trump also made an unconventional endorsement of Rep. Dean Phillips, a Democrat challenging Biden, to send a political message. The rally ended with Trump urging his supporters to vote in large numbers.
