Carl Junction hosts a blood drive: What to know

CARL JUNCTION, Mo. (KOAM) -- The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks and Carl Junction Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a blood drive.

According to the center, donors will not only being saving a life, but will also receive a $10 gas card and a beach towel.

What to do before a donating:

• Drink plenty of water or juice the night and morning before you donate.
• Eat a well-balanced meal around 2-3 hours before giving.
• Bring your photo identification — this is now required for all donors!

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks says walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged. The blood drive will be held at the Carl Junction Community Center from 12 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
