Lowell Police Apprehend Juvenile and Adult on Narcotics and Firearms Charges During South Common Park Patrol
Lowell Police, in coordination with the Massachusetts State Police, conducted a routine patrol that resulted in the arrest of a juvenile male and an adult male on August 13. According to the Lowell Police Department's official Facebook page, officials were keeping an eye on South Common Park when they noticed what seemed to be a drug deal. The observations led to a motor vehicle stop of a car reportedly involved in the transaction.

At this week’s Select Board meeting, Member Sarah Cawley gave a number of infrastructure and construction updates on behalf of the Department of Public Works:. A woman from Lowell has been handed a 21-month prison sentence following her guilty plea to charges involving drug distribution and money laundering within Massachusetts and Virginia. According to an announcement by the U.S. Attorney's Office, Sathtra Em, 37, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Chief Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV for conspiring to distribute MDMA and buprenorphine and to launder the proceeds of her crimes.
