Here is a guide of golf courses in southeast New Mexico for those wishing to hit the links.
Eddy County
Lake Carlsbad Golf Course
Based along the Pecos River and owned by the City of Carlsbad, the par three 18-hole golf course located at 901 North Muscatel Avenue, and par 72 regulation course is 6,512 yards with the river as a backdrop.
Several new tees were added in recent years to add length and difficulty, according to the City of Carlsbad.

Riverside Country Club
Located at 1700 West Orchard Lane in Carlsbad, the country club was established in 1946, per the Riverside Country Club website.
The course hosted the New Mexico Open in 1973 and two Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tournaments in 1965 and 1967, read the website.
The course is 6,167 yards with a United States Golf Association (USGA) rating of 68.5.
USGA defines a golf course as the score a scratch golfer with a handicap of 0 would have on golf course under normal course and weather conditions, according to the USGA website.

Artesia Country Club
Located at 2701 West Richey Avenue, Artesia’s lone golf course was established in 1946.
The 18 hole golf course is a par 72 and 6,124 yards of Bermuda grass fairways and greens, noted the Artesia Country Club website.

Chaves County
Nancy Lopez Golf Course at Spring River
Located at 1812 West Eighth Street in Roswell, the course is named for famous LPGA golfer and Roswell native Nancy Lopez.
Owned and operated by the City of Roswell, the 18 hole course is 6,623 yards with a par 71, stated the City of Roswell website.
“This is a challenging municipal course which is walker friendly. The course is tree-lined with water coming into play on four holes and multiple traps on every hole. The driving range is open sunup to sundown,” the website read.

New Mexico Military Institute Golf Course
Located across the street from New Mexico Military Institute, the golf course is a regulation 18 hole facility, equipped with a large driving range and putting green, per the See Roswell website.
“The course plays 6,639 yards from the back tees, 6,315 yards from the middle tees, and 5,275 yards from the forward tees,” according to the See Roswell website.

Lea County
Rockwind Community Links
Opened in 2015 and owned by the City of Hobbs, the 27 hole course has an 18 hole golf course and a nine hole par three course.
The famous Muirfield golf course in Scotland inspired the routing for the main 18 hole course at Rockwind, according to the course’s website.
“The course has five sets of tees with lengths ranging from 7,100 yards from the tips down to approximately 4,100 yards for the forward ‘express’ tees,” read the website.

(bold) Hobbs Country Club
Located at 5001 West Carlsbad Highway, Hobbs Country Club is an 18 hole 6,627 yards par 72 course.
The course has a USGA rating of 71.8 and opened in 1937.

Lovington Country Club
Located at 1227 South Country Club Drive, the club opened in 1953 as a nine hole facility, read the Lovington Country Club website.
An extra nine holes were added in 2003 as members and non-members can play.

Eunice Municipal Golf Course
The nine hole golf course, located at 9434 State Highway 8, also offers a driving range and practice green.
