City of Sequim adds official “Busking Spot”
SEQUIM — The City of Sequim Arts Commission has rolled out its newest public art initiative. They’ve established the new “Busking Spot” at Seal Street Park in Sequim. This pilot program envisions providing acoustical musicians an approved location to perform in an informal capacity in the downtown shopping corridor.
Watch your meal harvested from your seat at new seafood restaurant
PORT ANGELES, Wash. — There's a new restaurant in Port Angeles where you don't just savor fresh seafood - You see what it takes to get it from the sea to your plate. Twin brothers Jason and Jeremy Holden are Jamestown Sk'lallam tribe members and fishermen- their boat's name is Moby Duck. The same name as the restaurant they opened, to serve what they catch: Moby Duck Chowder & Seafood.
Unusual birds are visiting here now
August and September are the best months for seeing unusual avian visitors. If you keep your eyes out for them, you might spot something special. This is exactly what happened a few weeks ago in Port Townsend. Someone spotted a large gull-like bird that wasn’t a gull. It turned out to be a Red-footed Booby, a tropical ocean and coastal species that usually ventures no further north than Baja California. Since then, many birders have visited Port Townsend, repeatedly documenting this continuing visitor. You can see multiple photos and accounts of this bird at the Washington Rare Bird Alert.
