Steelers' Aaron Smith Had A Rare Agreement With AFC North Rival Willie Anderson When It Came To The Pro Bowl
The Pittsburgh Steelers had one of the best defenses in the NFL throughout the 2000s. It led the organization to two Super Bowl titles, with countless years of being strong contenders for the Lombardi Trophy. Many legends played on those defenses, including Troy Polamalu and James Harrison - but those defenses also featured some lesser-known guys. Players like Aaron Smith, who oftentimes was the key to the defense's strong play. Smith is an underrated player when it comes to the entire NFL, but Steelers fans know how impactful he was to the team. Smith often squared off against Willie Anderson, who was an...
Casey seeks answers about "the security failures" at Saturday's Trump rally
BUTLER — As family and friends, including fellow firefighters, prepared to lay to rest former Buffalo Township fire chief Corey Comperatore, the quest continued for answers to how a sniper from Pittsburgh’s South Hills was able to shoot Comperatore, two other attendees, and former President Donald Trump at a rally Saturday in Butler County.
Keeanu Benton Could Be ‘Pound For Pound The Steelers’ Best Player’ In A Few Years, Reporter Believes
As a rookie coming out of Wisconsin, 2023 second-round draft pick Keeanu Benton had a major impact on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ defensive line last season. Stepping into a larger role due to the early-season injury to star defensive lineman Cameron Heyward, Benton hit the ground running and showed just how bright his future is in the trenches, flashing some impressive explosiveness and athleticism up front for the Steelers.
Blessed are the Peacemakers
I am writing this hard on the heels of watching footage from Butler, Pennsylvania from the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Probably like you, I have been hungry for accurate information. The footage shows the former President slightly turning his head while speaking, then reacting as a bullet clipped his ear, and then going to the ground while being surrounded by members of the Secret Service. What that footage didn’t show was that one person was killed from a head wound while protectively crouching over members of his family, and two others were critically injured. The person killed was a firefighter and former Fire Chief in his community, and I have subsequently learned he was also a Methodist who attended a sister church in my Annual Conference (that’s denominational speak for a larger grouping of churches based on geography). I’ve also learned that the shooter was a 20-year-old man (a kid to someone as old as me) whose family was as shocked upon learning the news of his involvement as the rest of us.
Raskin and Comer urge Secret Service director appearance in rare joint statement
House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) and ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) issued a rare joint statement Friday urging Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to appear “without delay” for a hearing Monday to discuss the weekend’s assassination attempt of former President Trump. The statement...
Steelers Hire Rob King To Fill Bill Hillgrove's Legendary Shoes: 'It's A Dream Come True'
The Pittsburgh Steelers said goodbye to one of the longest tenured members of their organization during the 2024 offseason. Bill Hillgrove, the radio play-by-play announcer for the Steelers Audio Network, announced his retirement after spending the last 30 years in the role. The search for the next voice of the Steelers seemed long, but Rob King has finally been hired to follow in Hillgrove's footsteps. Hillgrove began his tenure in 1994, and wound up calling Super Bowl XXX in just just his second year in the role. Fans will certainly miss hearing his voice, but King has experience in the position and should be...

Whistleblowers shed light on alleged 'loose' security at Trump rally before shooting
WASHINGTON (TND) — Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., sent a letter to the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claiming whistleblowers with direct knowledge of the July 13 Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, considered it a “loose” security event. Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, attempted to assassinate the former president during the rally.
Calvin Austin III: Russell Wilson Has Been ‘Down To Earth,’ Bringing The Team Together Since Day One
One of the major themes or media narratives for the 2023 version of the Pittsburgh Steelers was the lack of leadership on the offensive side of the ball. In the midst of a three-game losing streak, former Steelers, national media figures, and many others were piling on and questioning whether the “Steeler Way” was a thing of the past. It was no big secret as to why that was happening. The Steelers had one of the youngest offenses in the NFL, and their longest-tenured players were WR Diontae Johnson, QB Mason Rudolph, and OT Chukwuma Okorafor. All three of those players are no longer on the team, but the Steelers added QB Russell Wilson in free agency. He is more than equipped to fill that leadership void as a 12-year veteran.

Can Chris Boswell Tackle? He Will Need To Under the NFL’s New Kickoff Rules
All 90 is a Steelers Now series profiling each of the 90 members of the Pittsburgh Steelers 2024 offseason roster. Next up is K Chris Boswell. The Pittsburgh Steelers originally signed Chris Boswell to try to fill the gap left by Shaun Suisham’s injury during the 2015 season but after two long contract extensions, Boswell is well on his way to playing for the team until he is the ripe age of 35 years old. The Steelers brought in a familiar face in kicker Matthew Wright to compete with Boswell in training camp and the preseason. With that move being...

Donald Trump's Assassination Attempt Is Drawing Comparisons To A 1992 Movie – And Its Star Isn't Happy
On Saturday July 13, 2024, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks borrowed his father's AR-15 style rifle and parked himself atop a building near the Butler Farm Show Grounds in Butler, Pennsylvania, from which he fired eight bullets in the direction of former President Donald J. Trump. This being 2024, we can reasonably conclude from the myriad of cameras present — television, phone, and whatnot — that this happened. We also know for a fact that Trump's ear was bloodied by something (possibly a bullet, shrapnel, or glass), that three other people were struck by Crooks' bullets, and that one of these bullets killed 50-year-old Corey Comparatore. Finally, it is an incontrovertible fact that Thomas Matthew Crooks is dead.

John Barrasso of Wyoming confirmed the findings in a phone call with Scripps News, also saying that investigators discovered the gunman had two phones and a drone in his vehicle.
