General Hospital: Sonny Plan Fails as John Targets Spinelli and Sam

General Hospital fans, get ready for some intense drama as Jagger devises a new plan to take down Sonny Corinthos. After facing setbacks, including losing his best chance to get Jason Morgan to turn on Sonny, John isn't ready to give up just yet. Here's what's coming up during the week of August 12-16.

Sonny is Back On Track

Sonny is taking the proper medication now, which has made him much calmer and much clearer in his thinking. When John tried to get beneath Sonny's skin at the courthouse and make him physically violent, Michael restrained his father. John cannot anticipate that locking Sonny up will be that easy now that he is off of placebos. It is imperative that Sonny learns to control his temper and refrain from having tantrums that might put him in jail.

In any case, Agent Cates wants to prosecute Sonny on far more serious charges, so he will need to come up with another plan to lock him up for good. Unfortunately for John, there was no longer any recorded evidence against Carly, so there was no longer any chance to turn Jason against Sonny. To get to the new tactic we talked about, though, John will not waver in his commitment to his goal of eliminating Sonny.

Before he finally takes action, it appears that John will talk to Ava about what he is thinking. During the week of August 12–16, according to Soap Opera News, Maxie will see warning indicators. Though it seems like James is heading into yet another crisis, there may also be one involving Damian in the works.

John Targets Spinelli and Sam for Leverage

Spinelli and Sam devised a plan to obtain the credentials of Agent Cates, allowing them to exert pressure on Jason. Sam was Spinelli's accomplice in the illegal system hacking, despite the fact that Spinelli was unable to remove the evidence against Carly. As John recalls that day at the pool, he might realize that Sam was conniving to help Spinelli because he knows the last time his credentials were used to access the recording.

Will John be able to gather enough evidence to put these criminal partners behind bars? Given the loose end that GH has left hanging, John might realize that this is a completely new route to Jason's leverage. In fact, Jason will be furious if Agent Cates locks up Spinelli and maybe even Sam because he knows that John will make a huge arrest in the August 16 episode.
