The Young and the Restless: Kyle Dinner with Claire, Interrupted by Diane and Jack

The Young and the Restless's (Y&R) current plotline suggests that Kyle will deal with more summer drama before trying to iron out a deal with Audra. With all of the strong opinions that his ex-girlfriends bring to the table, it is obvious that Kyle has his hands full.

Kyle Seeks Solace with Claire

Kyle will therefore require some downtime with a person he feels at ease with. We are talking about Claire, of course, who will presumably accept Kyle's invitation to join her at for dinner. Despite having never been in a committed romantic relationship, Claire has a crush on Kyle and is unsure of how to deal with her feelings. Since Kyle is Claire’s boss, she doesn’t see the point in trying to decipher what’s in her heart anyway.

Or, to put it another way, it appears that for the time being, this will just be another friendly dinner. Kyle might take this opportunity to open up about the latest Harrison custody developments – or maybe he’ll want a distraction from all that instead. Kyle and Claire's evening will eventually come to an abrupt end, regardless of the circumstances. As it happens, there will be a few people who show up as dinner guests and ruin the evening for Kyle. They will notice Claire and Kyle having a good time together right away because Jack will be arriving with Diane.

Diane’s Scheming with Jack

Diane will not be long in approaching Kyle's table with Claire, since she hopes to repair the relationship between her son and herself. An insignificant but crucial step in the right direction was when Diane canceled Harrison's trip to Paris and gave Kyle an update on his stomach issue. Diane has a great deal of work ahead of her if she hopes to win Kyle over. Is Diane going to try to take advantage of Claire? Given Diane's high regard for Claire's opinion, it is conceivable that Diane would put pressure on Claire to assist her in making amends with Kyle.

Claire may be able to relate to Diane on some level, but she will not want to put any pressure on Kyle regarding his mother. Claire will always be appreciative of her own family's kindness because she has been pardoned for horrible things, and she knows that is an incredible feeling. Part of Claire may want to assist Kyle and Diane in making things right as well since she is especially grateful for Victoria in her life.

Diane will also be plotting with Jack. Diane needs to exercise caution to avoid aggravating the situation further, as it will require her to play dirty in order to free Kyle from Victor's grasp.
