General Hospital (GH) discloses that the program has a simple chance to finally offer viewers closure on an unresolved issue.

The GH writers have never revealed who murdered Dr. Austin and teased Ava with horrific notes in the aftermath, but they have the ideal explanation right in front of them.

The chilling mystery of Dr. Austin’s murder has haunted Port Charles for far too long, leaving fans desperate for answers.

Austin’s Murder Solved?

As the shadow of suspicion looms over everyone, one man seems to hold the key to unlocking the truth. Will this deadly secret remain buried, leaving justice unserved?

The clock is ticking, and the price for crossing the line is about to be paid. Now that John has turned into such a monster, we have no doubts that he killed Austin.

This is especially significant given that the perpetrator was dressed in shining dress shoes similar to those used by FBI agents. Ava was terrified when someone sent her images of Austin's body, disturbing notes, and the murder weapon.

John may have been the one playing twisted games with Ava, just as he is currently attempting to manipulate her. Perhaps Agent Cates always saw Ava as someone he might someday turn into an ally against Sonny, whether by choice or compulsion.

Of course, we know Austin was assassinated before he could provide evidence against Cyrus. There was a period when it seemed like John had something to hide about Cyrus.

John’s Deadly Game

Agent Cates expressed concern about Anna using Cyrus to extract information from Phillip in Pentonville.

John may have become involved in a perilous partnership with Cyrus, who might have provided the mafia meeting recording that incriminated Carly.

Agent Cates may have taken matters into his own hands to quiet Austin as part of the Cyrus alliance. Anna feels Jack may have influence over John, so what if it includes Austin's unfortunate fate?

Is Brennan aware that Agent Cates killed Austin? Regardless, it appears like John is about to leave GH, so the program may as well solve Austin's murder on Agent Cates' leaving!

Do you think John was responsible for Austin's death? Will the crime be revealed before John leaves the ABC soap? According to General Hospital, John will have to pay for all of the lines he has crossed.
