The Young and the Restless: Billy and Lily Big Fight Fuels Victor Plan

If you're a fan of The Young and the Restless’s Billy, you undoubtedly feel horrible for him right now. He began the week with grief as Chelsea decided to suspend their relationship, blaming her time commitment to Connor.

While viewers are aware that she wanted a break from her relationship due to the immense guilt she feels for cheating on him with Adam, Billy has no idea what his girlfriend is hiding from him.

Unfortunately, Billy's week appears to be about to become even worse. In an episode of The Young and the Restless, he enters the Abbott-Chancellor offices in a sour temper and runs into Lily.

Chancellor Chaos

When Lily inquires about changes to the press statement proclaiming their new collaboration in running the firm, he loses it. Clearly taking his anger with Chelsea out on Lily, he blasts her for attempting to cut him out of Chancellor.

Billy accuses her of viewing him as a flaw and waiting for him to fail so she can take over Chancellor on her own.

She is taken aback by his outburst but responds with her own jabs about him making crazy charges and his ambition to rebuild his reputation in the business world.

They continue to argue back and forth, with her demanding that he get over himself and him accusing her of being power-hungry like Devon. Their argument is cut short as Chance enters the room and calms the situation.

Later, while having a drink with Chance, Billy expresses his dissatisfaction with Lily and his belief that she is going to stab him in the back. Chance tries to warn his uncle against this way of thinking, but it doesn't help.

By the end of their conversation, he is resolved to dismiss Lily and sends her a text message requesting a meeting. Billy's impulsive choice may come back to haunt him, as Victor and Nikki aggressively seek to take Chancellor from Jill and Billy.

Billy’s Big Blunder

In fact, in the same episode, Victor tells his wife that he intends to use Adam at Newman Media to damage Billy's image. Furthermore, The Mustache assigns Nikki the responsibility of warming up to Lily.

Despite her reservations about the work, Nikki finally decides to execute it. Call it fate, because near the conclusion of the episode, Lily walks into the Athletic Club as Victor and Nikki are about to enjoy supper. Victor spots her and invites her to join them.

Moments later, Billy steps in to meet with Lily, but Victor gets up from the table to catch him and have a talk. The Newman patriarch leaves Nikki and Lily alone to converse, and Nikki takes no time in picking Lily's brain about her present job situation.

Last week, we would have claimed Lily would not collaborate with Nikki to bring down Billy or betray Jill. However, given how much Lily values Chancellor and her work at the firm, if Billy dismisses her, she may be all too happy to join forces with the Newmans to recapture the business.

While Lily could always go work with Devon at Winters, as she pointed out, she has invested a lot of time and effort in trying to elevate Chancellor, and she does not want to simply wash her hands of it.

The main question is whether Lily is okay playing second fiddle to Nikki and reporting to Victor. Victor isn't exactly an easy employer to work for. Look at the hoops he demands his own children jump through to maintain their jobs.
