The Young and the Restless: Victor and Kyle Hidden Agenda – Claire Fate at Risk

On The Young and the Restless (Y&R), Victor Newman is taking matters into his own hands regarding Claire’s position as a nanny. He believes Claire would be a better fit for a role at Newman Enterprises and plans to make that transition happen during the week of August 26–30.

Victor rarely asks for things without expecting compliance. With Kyle now acting as Victor's right-hand man, Victor will put some subtle—but unmistakable—pressure on him. Victor will bring up Claire's future, suggesting that a change is necessary, which will make Kyle wonder if he's being told to fire her.

Victor's Strategic Moves

Victor will come to the conclusion that he can no longer wait for Claire to quit her job as a nanny. We think Claire would be a better fit for a role in the Newman company, therefore Victor will try to move things along during the week of August 26–30. Now that Kyle is essentially Victor's henchman, he will put some pressure on him. Victor frequently presents ideas as suggestions while, in reality, he's issuing commands! Victor will discuss Claire's future while implying that a change is necessary, Kyle is going to wonder if Victor is pushing him to terminate Claire when he pushes him to find a new nanny.

Victor may argue that Kyle is capable of handling things delicately because he will not want to offend Claire. Even while Victor might not use the term "firing," he will undoubtedly want Claire to return to the Newman family business and take over as babysitter. Kyle may take this opportunity to his advantage because Summer will be prepared for a new shared custody arrangement at last in the August 26 episode. Maybe Kyle will say he is making an effort to stop acting on his own initiative and that he is making up for the decision he made when he hired Claire.

Custody Conflicts and Victor's Influence

Perhaps Kyle will even hint that one of the conditions of the deal is the nanny change. At a minimum, Kyle may mention that Summer and the nanny job have become tense and argue that he doesn't want that to prevent the cousins from being close. In either scenario, Claire would be taken aback if Kyle acknowledged that he is considering alternative nannies for Harrison. Claire will corner Summer for some explanations later because she should believe that Summer is at fault after hearing the news. Summer will most likely have no idea what Claire is talking about, of course!

This could make Summer angry with Kyle for keeping her in the dark about something as significant as child care. There may be more custody disputes in this situation because Kyle and Summer's truce will be brittle. That is especially true if Summer starts to think Victor is influencing Kyle in ways that are not immediately apparent. We will keep you informed about any additional custody-related mishaps and Harrison story forecasts because Claire might unintentionally cause more trouble.
