Will Summer and Claire become closer as a result of Victor's insistence that Kyle dismisses Claire? There isn't a greater chess player on daytime television than The Young and the Restless Victor.

The Mustache is always thinking three steps ahead of both friends and foes and if it suits his larger goals, even his family is vulnerable to his cunning.

The most recent instance of our sentiment was when he organized his assault against Jack and Jabot.

    Family Feud

In addition to using Audra to snatch Tucker's valuable Glissade—Jabot's business rival—Victor also took advantage of Kyle's conflict with Jack and Diane to get him to join his team.

Victor even shifted his kids, save Abby of course, like pieces within Newman Enterprises and its offshoot Newman Media, all to ensure he had the ideal, dependable, and well-oiled family business that would carry out his orders and be secure from outside threats.

Victor is pursuing Abbott-Chancellor as well, demonstrating his ability to juggle numerous balls at once.

He is certain that only he and Nikki can guarantee that the business expands in a way that does tribute to Katherine's legacy.

Victor now has a greater battle since Jill and Billy won't just give up and allow Victor to take advantage of their business.

But Victor is adamant about getting Chancellor and putting his wife in charge, especially because Nikki has stated that she wants to eventually take over the firm.

And as history demonstrates, Victor typically gets what he really wants. After stating all of that, Victor on The Young and the Restless discloses to Kyle what he wants to do next.

    Claire vs. Summer

Claire's father, the patriarch of the Newman family, wants her to work for the family company. Specifically, he wants Claire to collaborate with Nikki as the soon-to-be-bought Chancellor.

Victor still wants his granddaughter to work for him, even though Claire herself rejected Nikki's offer of employment, preferring to stay on as Harrison's nanny.

Kyle is opposed to the proposal when he learns that Victor wants him to dismiss Claire in order to accomplish it. He is aware of his son's adoration for Claire and his sadness at her departure.

Furthermore, Kyle argues that Harrison would find a new nanny to be too much change all at once given his impending transfer.

By the conclusion of the episode, Victor doesn't seem to be the most understanding of Kyle's resistance, and by the sounds of it, Victor will persist.

Victor is Kyle's employer, thus based on that and future show clues, it appears that Kyle will grant Victor's request. In a later episode, Claire is supposed to face Summer; it's probably because of Kyle's insistence that Claire quit her work as Harrison's babysitter.

Claire would understandably assume that Summer is to blame for Kyle's change in attitude, considering how cruel Summer has been to her cousin.

It is conceivable that Claire may bring up Victor's desire for her to work for Newman Enterprises following some heated exchanges between the two Newman heirs.

Summer, on the other hand, could remember that Kyle appeared more willing to compromise after she talked to Victor about supporting her in her custody dispute.

    Kyle’s Dilemma

Is it feasible that Summer will realize Victor is acting as a puppeteer once more given that she knows Kyle is still withholding information regarding the nature of his work at Glissade and the reason he is collaborating with Audra?

Summer could be able to tell Claire about their grandfather's methods if she manages to uncover Victor's activities, excluding his intentions to seize control of Chancellor.

Even though they are not at all close friends, the two ladies love Harrison and want to do what's best for the child, so there's a potential they may talk to Kyle and Victor about Claire continuing to watch Harrison.

We're not sure how Victor would react if Claire and Summer were to truly agree on this point. He could be relieved that the two ladies have at last established a bond as a family, on the one hand.

However, it's also feasible that Victor gets upset with Kyle for not complying with his request in a way that didn't cause extra problems.

But one thing about which we can be quite sure is that Kyle will eventually get weary of hopping whenever Victor shouts "jump."
