According to reports, the program has opted to kill off her renowned Sam character, with the actress's final scene airing in the autumn. What comes next for Kelly?

Kelly has spent most of her soap opera career portraying the character of Sam, which she began in October 2003, although she has also worked on other projects throughout the years.

She also began her serial career as Livvie/Tess on General Hospital's sister show, Port Charles, from 2000 until 2003.

During her time on both programs, she received two Daytime Emmy nominations: one in the Best Supporting Actress category in 2003 for her depiction of Livvie/Tessa and one in the Lead Actress category in 2006 for her role as Sam.

What's Next for Kelly?

Fans can't forget the big sensation she made on reality television. She competed in the first season of Dancing With The Stars, winning first place, and she again appeared in Season 15, finishing third.

Many soap actors have moved from daytime drama to the Hallmark Channel, and viewers of the network frequently see familiar faces from Port Charles, including Ryan and current GHer Cameron, who ended up transferring from Hallmark to Great American Family.

Other soap actors who have made the switch include Alison (Days of Our Lives Sami), Jen (Days' former Theresa), Vanessa (GH's former Brenda), and Jack (GH's previous Frisco), to mention a few.

Monaco's move to Hallmark would be a natural fit, as the channel is constantly looking for actors and actresses for all of the films and programs it produces.
