Are Lucy and Sharon both experiencing a mental health crisis? Will Lucy become more like her maternal grandmother? Sharon's conduct on The Young and the Restless has been increasingly unstable in recent weeks.

Her fragile mental condition has now escalated into a mental health crisis, as she stopped taking her bipolar medications, and began hallucinating Cameron and Faith, and Lucy was involved in a vehicle accident that bears striking similarities to the one involving Cassie and Daniel.

Sharon has gone full mama-bear mode, and she is willing to defend her kid at any cost, regardless of how others feel about it.

    Sharon vs. Phyllis

This was clear when Sharon marched into the Romalotti house and insisted that Daniel and Heather keep their daughter away from Faith.

Fast ahead to the episode, Sharon has two confrontations with Phyllis' children. First, after ending up in a meeting with Mariah at Crimson Lights, Sharon is left alone to retrieve her belongings from the rear.

During that time, Daniel and Faith appear. Daniel doesn't see Sharon, so he believes the coast is clear for him and his daughter to spend some time together.

We have to roll our eyes because, of all the locations in Genoa City they could have gone to, they choose the one owned by the one lady who doesn't want to see them.

Daniel discovers he has forgotten his phone and rushes to the car, leaving Lucy to find a table. Of course, that's when Sharon reappears, startled to see Lucy.

Lucy, not reading the room, begins frantically apologizing and then asking Sharon to let her see Faith. This is around the time Daniel steps back into the room.

    Is History Repeating Itself?

Sharon, at her wits end, effectively says no to Lucy and challenges her obsession with Faith. To top it off, Sharon comments that Faith attempted to be kind about it, but she does not want to be near Lucy.

The youngster becomes aggressive, calling Sharon a liar and accusing her of attempting to damage her friendship with Faith.

She even brings up Cassie, claiming that Sharon is exploiting the memories of her deceased daughter to hurt Lucy. The low blow enrages Sharon, who shouts at Lucy until Daniel pulls his daughter away.

Sharon's second encounter occurs when she arrives at the Genoa City Athletic Club and observes Phyllis and Heather conversing.

The Cassidy First owner rushes up to the duo and scolds Heather for not being a better mother to Lucy.

Heather properly takes objection and quickly exchanges words with Sharon before storming out, leaving old enemies Phyllis and Sharon to fight.

Sharon pulls Phyllis' buttons, bringing up Phyllis' habit of bulldozing her way to obtain what she wants, leaving a devastating trail in her wake, and accuses Lucy of being the same way, even referring to Lucy as Phyllis' miniature.

Sharon's parting words to Phyllis are to keep her entire family away from her and Faith. Lucy has returned home, and Daniel is tearing into him while Sharon lets free.

    Sharon and Lucy in Crisis

She accuses Daniel of wrecking her life, claiming that Sharon's refusal to allow her to be friends with Faith stems from his involvement in the automobile accident with Cassie.

Lucy admits she made a mistake with Faith that night, but she does not appear to understand that she has played a significant role in Sharon's need for distance between the two girls.

When Daniel suggests leaving Genoa City for a bit to explore Portugal, Lucy loses it once more, accusing Daniel of wrecking her life.

She does not want her parents to decide where she lives or who she may be friends with.

However, Lucy's fury with Portugal derives more from her want to stay in town so that she may spend time with Faith, despite Sharon's objections and Lucy's grounding.

With all of that stated, we're beginning to suspect Sharon isn't the only one suffering from a mental health crisis here.

Lucy's fascination with Faith is becoming increasingly disturbing, and it looks like Faith is her main focus these days.

    Lucy’s Alarming Behavior

Keep in mind that Faith informed Lucy before the accident that she needed some space from her, and despite Lucy's parents and Sharon's protestations, Lucy simply wants to be with Faith.

Is it feasible that Lucy is more than simply an angry adolescent and is displaying some "unhinged behavior"?

It is worth noting that, while Sharon compared Lucy to Phyllis, there may be a more concerning similarity. For those who need reminding, Heather is not Lucy's birth mother; Daisy is.

Daisy is the daughter of supervillain Sheila. Daisy and Sheila have a long history of criminal activity, including drugging people, abduction, attempted murder, and, in Sheila's case, murder.

Could Lucy be showing early signals that she is more similar to her birth mother and maternal grandma than anybody thought?

We're not ready to go that far just yet, but if Lucy's fixation deepens, Faith may want to be cautious and return to college sooner rather than later.
