Why Do Our Dogs Follow Us Everywhere?

Well, who doesn't love their dogs but you know there are times when we wonder about their certain behaviors. Sometimes we see our favorite buddy stick with us all the time, just like a shadow. We know that our dogs love cuddles and, to be honest, we love spending time with them too but you know there are days when we need our personal space but our beloved buddy won’t leave us alone so what could be the reason behind it? Why do they always keep following us everywhere? And that's a curious question that all dog parents wonder at one time or another. But don't worry, folks, we got you with answers!

Remember that Dogs are like Extroverts; Very Social!

Well, there could be several reasons behind our dogs following us everywhere but one thing we must remember is that dogs are social animals and love to have fun and go around and social behavior is what makes them even more adorable. They don’t exactly understand personal space and want to be with their favorite human and play and cuddle with them all the time.

    Simply because Dogs Love Us

Our dogs can be following us around because they simply love us. Animals tend to be with the people they love all the time and even humans feel like that. You also must have felt like not leaving your loved ones even for a second and staying with them all the time, just like dogs love their human parents so much that they want to stick with them like glue and follow them everywhere.

When Bored and Want Something Exciting

As we have said earlier, dogs are social animals and always want to do something exciting, and when they are bored, they can follow you everywhere in the hope that you will play with them or indulge them in some fun and exciting activity. Dogs are more restless when they have nothing to do, so if you give them toys to play with, food puzzles, or play and cuddle with them, they will love it, and for all of these, they follow you everywhere.

    Maybe it’s Separation Anxiety

Okay, so the next one is a little serious but don’t be scared. If your dog is way too clingy and follows you everywhere while barking and whining, then it could be because of separation anxiety. Dogs have the worst kind of separation anxiety and they fear losing their human parents. So, they might follow you everywhere but you can always take them to the vet and give them things to distract and don’t always end up loving and cuddling your pet buddy because that can increase their separation anxiety whenever you are not around.

Curiosity and Not Wanting to Miss Out

Dogs are sometimes like kids who are just curious and want to be involved in everything and just like that, they want to follow you everywhere so that they don’t miss out on things and get to know everything going around. Their curiosity is what makes them learn better than other animals and also makes them wise.

    Trying to Express Themselves

Dogs can’t speak but they can express themselves, and following you everywhere could be a way to express themselves. Maybe they want to tell you something. We have seen a variety of dogs over the years who have followed their human parents because they want to tell us something important and that’s how dogs have become saviors many times. Also, it could be their simple needs like wanting to go somewhere or play with you or the toys or they are just hungry and want food.
