Hamlet Was Rescued From Being a Livestock Guardian and Faced the Challenges of Blindness

It's very rare to see someone adopting a dog with a traumatizing past and some illness. Well, that’s not people’s fault because taking care of dogs is a huge deal, and looking after a dog with illness and impairments is a lot of work that many people want to avoid.

But there is nothing to be upset about because there is another set of people who want to look out for dogs, especially those with troubled pasts and impairments, and make sure that they get the good health, love, and care that they deserve and make a perfect and warm home for the dogs.

A Rancher with a Small Heart

We have a very traumatizing story of Hamlet, who wasn’t adopted and loved but then left after the owner found out about his impairment. So, a man who had a huge ranch bought our little Hamlet from a 'breeder' in West Texas.

He brought Hamlet along in the hope that Hamlet would be his partner and help him with the livestock and at the ranch but he soon realized that something was wrong with Hamlet when he took Hamlet to the vet. His doubts were true and Hamlet turned out to be blind and had HD.

Well, after this revelation, the rancher knew that Hamlet could not work as a livestock guardian because of his unfortunate impairment so he made the choice of leaving the dog to the vet, who went to the National Anatolian Shepherd Rescue Network for help.

    Tara Took Care of Hamlet

The National Anatolian Shepherd Rescue Network turned out to be a true miracle for the innocent little dog whose fate was cruel to him. He was so helpless and in pain that he couldn’t stand up but his foster mother took care of him and took him to the vet, who eventually controlled the pain. Finally, Hamlet was out of pain and could walk and even run around freely.

Hamlet’s foster mom helped him get started on his new life and her other dogs and Hamlet were soon playing and running around. Hamlet was finally out of pain and living his life to the fullest and gained a lot more confidence than before, all thanks to Tara for that.

    Hamlet was Finally Adopted

With that, Hamlet was now perfect for adoption and his name was listed; fortunately, he got adopted by a beautiful family that loves and cares for Hamlet despite his past troubles and challenges. The National Anatolian Shepherd Rescue Network has helped Hamlet as well as many other livestock guardians to live a better life.
