On September 15, Prince Harry of the United Kingdom celebrated his 40th birthday, receiving congratulations from his brother Prince William and sister-in-law Kate Middleton. Kate is reported to have had a major hand in crafting the birthday message that was shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales' official accounts after seeing signs that Harry was suffering from "homesickness."

The heartfelt message posted on X read: “Wishing a Happy 40th Birthday to The Duke of Sussex!” She made sure Harry got a call and a thoughtful gift to commemorate his birthday, even though they lived far apart.

With the continued hostilities between the brothers, royal observers did not ignore this public acknowledgment. According to reports, Kate was the "driving force" behind her outreach to Harry as she "slowly makes good on her vow to restore some kind of peace and forgiveness before it is too late."

The insider said that Kate "told William in no uncertain terms that this is not the time for resentment, but more importantly, she wanted Harry to have this message on his birthday." In addition, they needed to show the outside world how essential family and love are to them.

The source also mentioned how much Harry valued the outreach.

After spending his special day with his family, Harry—who resides in California with the Duchess of Sussex and their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet—reportedly went to a party with friends.

The birthday messages marked the first public acknowledgment from the royal family since 2021, following Harry's controversial claims about the family in his interview with Oprah Winfrey and in his memoir, Spare.

It is unlikely that Harry and Meghan will spend Christmas in the UK.

Despite being invited to celebrate Christmas with the Spencer family, a royal expert has declared it "extremely unlikely" that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will spend the holiday in the United Kingdom.

Since he and Meghan Markle resigned as working royals in 2020, Harry, 40, has been outspoken about his continued concerns for his family's safety.

Jennie Bond, a former royal correspondent for the BBC, stated: "Well, if an offer has really been made, which seems pretty reasonable, and if they accepted, it would go against everything Harry has said about security."

“He has repeatedly said it’s unsafe to bring his wife and children to the UK without guaranteeing official security.”
