According to The Young and the Restless (Y&R), Chance just retired from his corporate job and was considering returning to law enforcement.

Chance’s return to law enforcement could have him diving headfirst into one of Genoa City's most shocking mysteries.

After stepping away from the corporate chaos of Abbott-Chancellor, the former detective may soon be back on the beat—and the timing couldn’t be more intense.

Will Chance’s Investigation Spell Trouble for Sharon?

With The Young and the Restless hinting that Chance’s first case could be the murder everyone is buzzing about, this investigation is set to get personal fast.

Sure, he enjoyed working at Chancellor-Winters, which later evolved into Abbott-Chancellor, but the drama with Billy became too much.

He was an excellent policeman in the Genoa City Police Department, so it appears he will return.

Will his first case involve the murder that everyone is talking about? Y&R hints that Chance is a superb investigator.

He does not always consider evidence only on its face value. He also investigates thoroughly.

To boot, he has a tremendous instinct and can detect when others are lying. Chance also has a personal link to all of this, having dated Heather at one point.

He'll want to get to the bottom of things, but is he ready to find out who murdered Ms. Stevens?

    Chance Back on the Case

According to Y&R, if Chance is the investigative officer who leads the case, things might become tricky.

He previously had a romantic relationship with Sharon and is well aware of her mental health concerns.

More importantly, they were and continue to be friends as a result of his friendship with Rey. How complex will Chance's life get after he finds Sharon may be the one who killed Heather?

Not that Chance would ever cover up a murder for a buddy, but when he discovers the truth, he will be sad.

Fans know Sharon blacked out during her meeting with Heather, therefore there is still considerable conjecture that she did not murder her.

In the universe of soaps, it's very plausible that while Sharon was unconscious on the couch, someone else broke into the apartment and murdered Heather for whatever reason.

Given Chance's thoroughness, may he wind up saving Sharon's day?

Will Chance return to the police department? Will his first case include Heather’s murder?
