Meghan Says Nottingham Cottage Is Too Small and She Is Not Close to Kate

When Meghan Markle moved to the UK in 2017 ahead of her marriage to Prince Harry, a new book claims that she insisted on living in enormous apartments at Windsor Castle to "share space with the Queen."

It is significant to remember that Nottingham Cottage, located on Kensington Palace grounds, is now home to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Harry called the Nottingham Cottage his "starter home." It had two bedrooms and a small garden.

In the Netflix document series, Meghan confessed that she thought they would be living in “something more regal” after getting engaged. In the Netflix series, she said, “As far as people were concerned, we were living in a palace. And we were in a cottage.”

When the Duchess of Sussex first visited Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, she allegedly thought that Prince Harry "deserved more" than he received from the British Royals, according to Robert Jobson, a royal correspondent and author of the new book "Catherine, the Princess of Wales."

According to the book, she was instantly “taken aback” by the inequality between the brothers.

Royal correspondent Jobson writes in his book that Meghan was "taken aback" by the brothers' differences when she and Harry went to William and Catherine's apartment for drinks when they were still residing at Nottingham Cottage across the street.

Royal expert Kinsey Schofield said that after her wedding in 2018, Meghan asked if they could live in Windsor Castle, where they had their wedding reception.

Schofield stated, "Meghan Markle wanted to share the same space with the Queen, and she was denied that space for multiple reasons. When she married Prince Harry, she went up to the family and asked if they could stay in suites at Windsor Castle."

The Duchess of Sussex was forewarned by the British Royals that the castle is open for public tours several times a year, so the couple's privacy would be violated.

The royal expert, however, claimed that Meghan’s “fixation” on the huge castle came from her rivalry with Kate, who lived in a lavish apartment with Prince William and their children in Kensington Palace. Meghan wanted “something of similar value.”

It might have been the start of all the conflicts between the two couples.

    Middleton’s and Markle's relationship

If reports from the media are to be believed, Meghan Markle has attempted to get in contact with her estranged sister-in-law Kate Middleton. However, due to her recent surgery, the Princess of Wales is not in the mood to reply.

Kinsey Schofield, a royal pundit, stated that the estranged sisters-in-law will "never be friends." He also said, as the princess is currently in recovery, it would be a highly inappropriate time for Meghan to do any outreach.
