PBS sets premiere date for Wilmington 1898 documentary
A documentary project from PBS on the Wilmington 1898 massacre will premiere later this year. With the working title of "Wilmington 1898: An American Coup," the documentary is scheduled to air on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 9 p.m., according to a PBS news release. It will be part of the network's American Experience history series and available to stream for free simultaneously with broadcast on all station-branded PBS platforms, including PBS.org and the PBS App.

Residents get tour of BSL's new fire, rescue station
Boiling Spring Lakes showed off its new 12,200-square-foot fire and rescue station with an open house for the community on Saturday. The station officially opened earlier this year on N.C. 87 (3059 George II Highway) next to Dollar General. With bunk rooms and living quarters available for the fire and rescue staff, the city can now house someone at the station 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to improve response times, said Chief Theresa Tickle.
