Man convicted in Marion County gang murder sentenced to life without mercy

FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — A man convicted of murder and conspiracy in the 2022 shooting death of Henry Silver in Carolina, West Virginia has been sentenced to life in prison without the chance for parole.

John Wolfe, who is a member of the Pagan Motorcycle Club, is believed to have initiated the shooting because the victim was in a relationship with his significant other. He will serve the following consecutively for his three counts:

• First-degree murder: Life without mercy
• Conspiracy: 1-5 years
• Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony: 10 years

Silver’s father and stepmother gave emotional victim impact statements during the sentencing.

“I wake up every day into a perpetual hell without him,” Silver’s father said during his statement.

Five other people have also been charged with murder in Silver’s death. Derek Clem, Jonathan Biller, Austin Mullins and Dane Hull were arrested and charged with murder in the case in June of last year, and 36-year-old Ryan Lane was charged with murder and conspiracy after testimony from Wolfe’s trial.

All of the men are believed to be members of the Pagan Motorcycle Club and were known to have discussed Silver in a meeting before the murder, according to criminal complaints. They are all awaiting trial.
