Bismarck City Commission Approves 2025 Budget
(Bismarck, ND) — The Bismarck City Commission has approved next year’s budget, without any opposition and without a tax increase. The preliminary budget is roughly 404-million dollars, and the city finance director says property tax rates haven’t increased and will maintain the same mil levy. That mil level could actually decrease depending on how much Burleigh County contributes to public health. City commissioners are expected to give the budget a final approval in September.
Buffalo Days Begins in Jamestown
Buffalo Days begins in Jamestown today. The student musical opens at the Arts Center tonight, and KSJB Radio will be broadcasting live outside of the venue from 2-5:00 p.m. The all day events tomorrow include the pancake feed, parade through downtown, the car and hot rod shows, 4-H and ag exhibits, along with live music. Several hurt from gunfire in Brooklyn Park amid massive gathering at Noble Sports Park
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. — Brooklyn Park police say multiple people were hurt on Friday night when shots were fired during a gathering of about 400 people at Noble Sports Park.Police say officers were called to the park at about 9:20 p.m. on a report of a disturbance, with gunfire erupting soon after they arrived.No officers were hurt but police say multiple vehicles sustained bullet damage, and officers eventually collected "a large amount of shell casings" at the scene. Officers from several surrounding police departments were also called to the park to assist with crowd control and dispersal.Brooklyn Park police are still investigating.

Cease & Desist Order Issued For Minot Smoke Shop
(Minot, ND) — North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley has issued a cease & desist order against a Minot smoke shop. Investigators say employees at Minot Smoke Inc. allegedly sold products that contained marijuana, THC, and other controlled substances. Authorities say none of the products were labeled to show they contained these substances. The order accuses the smoke shop of violating the North Dakota Food, Drug & Cosmetics Act, the Uniform Controlled Substances Act, the Hemp Act, and state consumer fraud laws.
