ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Carroll County man has been convicted in the rape of a 15-year-old girl and sentenced to life in prison, prosecutors said Monday. On Aug. 8, a Carroll County jury found John Earl Mack, 43, guilty of rape, two counts of aggravated child molestation, and enticing a child for indecent purposes, according to Coweta County Judicial Circuit District Attorney John Cranford Jr.

Carroll County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Tanner Medical Center’s Emergency Department on Aug. 5 after a family member reported the assault and took the elderly woman to the hospital. Medical staff confirmed her injuries were consistent with rape or sexual trauma.
