CARROLL COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - A man shot by police after allegedly leading them on a chase has been identified by Virginia State Police. Police say Christopher J. Martin, 46, was wanted on five outstanding felony indictments of possession of a schedule I/II narcotic, possession of a schedule I/II narcotic with the intent to distribute, distribution of 28 grams or more of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm while in possession of a schedule I/II narcotic, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Drinking water clinics for homeowners with wells, spring set
Affordable water testing and information about water quality, spring care and well maintenance will be offered for homeowners through Virginia Cooperative Extension, Carroll County, again this year. Water samples collected by participating homeowners will be analyzed for 14 parameters, including total coliform bacteria, E. coli, pH, lead, arsenic, copper, nitrate and hardness at a cost of $70. Carroll Retired Teachers to meet July 12
Carroll County Retired Teachers Social Club will meet Friday July 12 at VFW Parking Lot in Hillsville to car pool to Foster Falls for a picnic. Bring your own Lunch and drink. Regulations for Virginia State Parks is a parking fee of $7 per car. We can car pool and everyone in the car can help the driver pay the parking fee. All retired school personnel in the Carroll County Area are invited to attend. Family and friends are invited to attend. New retirees are also invited to attend. If you prefer to drive to the park be prepared to pay the $7 parking fee. We will meet at the picnic area.
