MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) - Effects from the global internet outage Friday morning extend from the gas pumps to airports to local government offices across Mid-Michigan. Several Speedway gas stations in the region were unable to process credit card payments Friday morning. Some locations closed entirely while others remained open for cash transactions only.

Police: Unionville man killed after breaking into house
ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) - A Unionville man was shot and killed after police say he broke into the home where his ex-girlfriend was staying. The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says 67-year-old Galen Gavitt of Unionville broke into the home in the 1200 block of Elkhorn Road in Orion Township just after 10 a.m. Wednesday, where his 62-year-old ex-girlfriend was living.
