SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) – A Saginaw girl is lucky to be alive after being attacked by a neighbor’s dog a few weeks ago, and her mom said she is still recovering. Lilly nearly died when she was attacked. She was bitten on the face and neck, and the dog came close to severing an artery, but a few weeks later, she seems pretty much back to being herself.
SVSU nursing students achieve 98% pass rate on licensing exam; program ranks in top 10% nationally for careers
The nursing program at Saginaw Valley State University continues to stand out for career preparation, as its students posted an exemplary 98.4% first-time pass rate on the NCLEX®, the national licensure exam. Nurses must pass this exam to become licensed and enter the nursing profession, and 124 Saginaw Valley State University nursing students passed the test and are ready to begin work.

OAKLAND CO., Mich. (WNEM) – A Unionville man was shot and killed after he broke into his ex-girlfriend’s house, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. Man fatally shot after breaking into ex-girlfriend’s home with axe
ORION TOWNSHIP, MI – A man was fatally shot after using an axe to break into a home in search of his ex-girlfriend, police said. Galen Gavitt, 67, of Unionville, was fatally shot by the woman’s adult stepson as he advanced on her with a gun in hand, according to a news release from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. The 62-year-old woman and her stepson were not injured.
