Atlantic Beach increases safety efforts as holiday crowds hit the shore
ATLANTIC BEACH, Carteret County — With the excessive heat, sunshine and a big holiday this week, people are flocking to the beaches. Atlantic Beach is expecting tens of thousands of visitors this weekend, so the fire department is beefing up their staff on the beaches to prevent issues and save people faster should they need to be rescued from the water. Over one hundred people have been rescued across our North Carolina beaches this summer alone. Though officials at Atlantic Beach say these past few days have been slower, there's been a high number of water rescues for them as well.
Sidewalk murals receive facelift in Morehead City from DMC, Inc. and ACCC

(DMC, Inc.) recently completed a mural installation and restoration project in the heart of Morehead City’s downtown waterfront district.
