Underserved youth were given an opportunity to develop their interest in enrolling in higher education at Western Illinois University in mid-July. High school students from school districts in Peoria, Monmouth, Beardstown and Macomb attended the Addressing Equity Gaps Among Rural Students summer camp at WIU, a project funded by the Department of Education’s Rural Postsecondary and Economic Development Program (RPED).
