MoDOT: Traffic shift on Jasper County Route HH starting July 8

CARTHAGE, Mo. (KOAM) -- The Missouri Department of Transportation is warning people about a a traffic shift beginning on July 8.

According to MoDOT, access to Dr. Russell Smith Way from Jasper County Route HH (Fir Road) traffic will shift to the Route HH to southbound I-49 ramp in Carthage due to intersection improvement.

Traffic Impacts:

• Russell Smith Way will be CLOSED at Route HH
• Drivers will access Dr. Russell Smith Way via a temporary access road on the Route HH-to-southbound -I-49 ramp
• Traffic will remain in this pattern for most of the rest of the intersection improvement project, sometime in early 2025
• Drivers should expect slowed traffic, traffic delays
• Crews and large equipment near traffic
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
• Drivers should consider alternate routes during the project
