Wildcats shutout Vikings in season-opening victory
HUNTERSVILLE – A stifling defensive effort set the tone for the Lake Norman Wildcats in a season-opening 23-0 victory versus the North Meck Vikings. “They were flying around like their hair was on fire, baby,” Lake Norman head coach Jonathan Oliphant said. “(Defensive coordinator Dave Johnson) and the rest of the defensive staff does a great job. They play like they’re coached; tough, gritty and mean, and those coaches do a great job of instilling that passion in our players.”
