Middle Tennessee State football is picked to finish fourth in the 2024 Conference USA preseason poll, the league announced Friday. Liberty was picked first, receiving 18 of the 20 first-place votes (197 points). Western Kentucky was picked second, receiving the other two first-place votes (173 points) while Jacksonville State (166) was third, followed by the Blue Raiders (98).

State unemployment holds steady at historic low
NASHVILLE — Tennessee continues to experience record-low unemployment, according to data released by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD). Two Suspects Wanted in Connection to Highway Patrol Trooper Shooting in Putnam County
Authorities are searching for two suspects who are wanted in connection to the shooting of Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) Trooper Adam Cothron in Cookeville on July 19th. Authorities have identified one of the suspects as 29-year-old Braze Rucker and THP is offering a $10,000 award for information leading to the arrest of Rucker.
