The owner of a restaurant charged in a shooting last year near a popular bakery in Boston's North End has pleaded guilty. Patrick Mendoza pleaded guilty in Suffolk Superior Court to charges of assault and battery attempt with a firearm, armed assault to murder, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, illegal possession of ammunition and carrying a firearm without a license.

BOSTON (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers traded pitcher James Paxton to the Boston Red Sox for minor league infielder Moises Bolivar on Friday. Bolivar, a 17-year-old from Venezuela, hit .270 with three home runs and 19 RBIs with the Dominican Summer League Red Sox. A 22-year-old man was fatally shot at his home in Brockton, Massachusetts late Wednesday night, and authorities are currently investigating the circumstances behind the killing.
