Mass. weather: Hail, thunderstorms could soak areas Thursday night
While the dry weather reprieve is set to continue going into the weekend and beyond, there might be a stormy pause on Thursday. Low clouds and stratus were predominantly around the Cape and Islands before spreading out across parts of southern New England, according to the National Weather Service. They come as a cold front trails from Newburyport to Storrs, Connecticut, and into Danbury. Along this line, showers and embedded thunderstorms are expected.
Update: Dense fog advisory issued for 4 Massachusetts counties Thursday morning
On Thursday at 6:22 a.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated dense fog advisory in effect until 9 a.m. for Plymouth, Bristol, Barnstable and Dukes counties. WAREHAM — A former Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School teacher accused of raping a student has received another date to return to court. Andre Arsenault, 35, appeared Thursday in Wareham District Court on charges of rape and indecent assault and battery on a person age 14 or over — offenses allegedly committed towards an Old Colony student while Arsenault was a teacher at the school, according to reports.
