A big storm moved across central Illinois on Monday night, bringing broad and severe destruction. The 70 mph wind gusts produced the storm resulted in major harm to trees, electricity lines, and houses. On Tuesday morning, residents found tree limbs strewn about their yards and streets. West Siders Can Get $25,000 To Help Recover From July 2023 Flood Damage
AUSTIN — The city has secured another $5 million to help West Side neighbors still recovering from flood damage caused by last summer’s storms. The Flood Assistance Repair Program for 2024 will help up to 200 homeowners — primarily older people — living in single-family or one- to two-unit properties on the West Side. FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A 30-year-old Illinois man accepted a plea agreement Tuesday in connection with the fatal 2023 shooting of a Fort Wayne man. Jesse Shears was one of four people charged with murder in connection with the death of 40-year-old Dennis Starr of Fort Wayne. Samuel Evans III, 51, 24-year-old Samuel Evans IV and 26-year-old Lexus Evans, a father and his two children, were also charged in the case.
