    J.Crew discount store coming to Cary + other Triangle stores opening this summer

    A popular retailer offering discounted clothing is opening soon in the Triangle.

    J.Crew Factory is expanding to Cary’s Crossroads Plaza shopping center. A customer service representative told The News & Observer that the store is expected to open July 18.

    The Cary store joins three other Triangle area locations at Renaissance Center in Durham , Carolina Premium Outlets in Smithfield and Tanger outlets in Mebane .

    The retailer, owned by the same company that operates J.Crew and Madewell, sells clothing and accessories for men, women and kids at reduced prices.

    J.Crew Factory is one of just several stores opening in the Triangle this summer. Here’s a recap of recent retail news:

    What’s coming to Durham?

    Three stores are expanding to The Streets at Southpoint in Durham:

    • Preppy clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch will open this summer next to J.Crew on level one.
    • Janie and Jack , which sells in children’s clothes, is expected to open in late August .
    • Women’s clothing brand Garage is opening in early August.

    Fare&Fellow , a woman-owned coffee shop , is planning to open in the Mutual Life Building downtown at 411 W. Chapel Hill St. in August.

    Golf club store Club Champion recently opened its sixth North Carolina location at 8128 Renaissance Parkway.

    Fitness and wellness businesses opening across the Triangle

    Four businesses offering a variety of health-related services are opening in coming months.

    • In Raleigh : SweatHouz will offer cold plunges and infrared saunas at Seaboard Station . Also, Beem Light Studio , which offers infrared and red-light saunas, is opening at Glenwood South . A weight loss clinic called Options Medical Weight Loss is opening its first North Carolina office in July at Brennan Station shopping center.
    • In Cary : Vega Vitality will open at Fenton late this summer. The medical spa and wellness clinic has two locations in Boston, and the Cary spot will be the company’s first in North Carolina. It will offer injectables such as Botox, aesthetic treatments including facials, and customized anti-aging treatments.

    What’s coming to Raleigh?

    • Wegmans , located on Wake Towne Drive, is getting a pharmacy this summer . Customers will be able to pick up medications in store or have it delivered and receive select immunizations.
    • A new Starbucks is opening on Six Forks Road near Sawmill Road this summer.
    • Clothing store johnnie-O is planned to open at North Hills this summer. The brand, which specializes in a “casual yet sophisticated aesthetic,” will be next to Anthropologie in the Main District.
    • Nordstrom Rack is expanding to Raleigh’s Triangle Town Place this fall.
    • Foxcroft Wine Co. is planning to open this fall at the Lassiter District at North Hills , in the former Midtown Grille spot.
    • Captain Cookie & The Milk Man , a dessert place known for fresh-baked cookies and ice cream sandwiches, is also expanding to the Lassiter District this fall. It will be next to Sur La Table.
    • Jalwa Indian Bistro is moving into the old Saint Jacques space at North Ridge Shopping Center . The restaurant is expected to open in September or October.
    • Shoe retailer Skechers is expected to open at Brier Creek Commons Shopping Center in the fourth quarter of this year .
    • Madewell and J.Crew will open this year in the Main District at North Hills .
    • Fast-casual salad place Sweetgreen is moving into the former Pieology at North Hills’ Main District and is expected to open its doors this year.
