Manchester Lions Club Comes To An End After 83 Years
At the end of June, the Manchester Lions Club ended 83 years of continuous service to the community. For the past 25 years, the club experienced declining membership and more recently, a reduction in the ability to continue to provide meaningful service to the community. Established in 1941, the Manchester Lions Club grew to boast a membership roster of 140 members in the 1970s and 1980s. For the past 83 years, the Manchester Lions Club conducted its primary mission program, Lions Kids Sight Vision Screening, by conducting vision screenings across Delaware County at childcare centers, area schools and private appointments and at daycare providers.
