Elaine Leonard, 91, of Lake Orion
Elaine Ann Leonard, age 91, of Lake Orion, passed away on July 2, 2024 after a battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She is survived by her husband Ronald of 60 years, and her three sons: the late Ronald (Michele Labadie) Leonard, David (Anita) Leonard, and Alan (Kimberly) Leonard. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Amanda, Anna, Jacqueline, Elizabeth, Matthew, Andrew, Felicity, Ronnie, Braeden, Luciana, and Brody; and one great-granddaughter, Elliana.
Pursuing Mushrooms
Vincent Sanna is like many local people, he loves to go foraging for mushrooms. An entrepreneur all his life, he took up mushroom hunting in 2011 as a hobby while he owned a pet supply company. He was so intrigued with mushrooms that he quickly learned how to grow them and came up with the idea to produce and sell mushroom grow kits. The grow-at-home kits were a hit but his love for mushrooms won out with his mushroom farm, Give and Grow Mushrooms, taking his passion to the next level and his next business venture.

Mother of 2 killed when drag racer fleeing police crashes into vehicle
WARREN, MI – Three muscle cars were allegedly drag racing when police officers initiated a traffic stop that turned into a deadly chase, FOX 2 Detroit reports. Katrina Shuker, 42, died of injuries sustained in a crash with one of the fleeing vehicles around 1:30 a.m., the report said. Grace Elizabeth Smith
Grace Elizabeth (nee Bliss) Smith, 80, a longtime former resident of Grosse Pointe Farms, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens. She was born June 28, 1943, in Detroit, to Willis “Dolly” and Harold “Jack” Bliss, both now deceased. Affectionately called “Cookie” by members of her immediate family, Grace graduated from Dearborn High School and attended Western Michigan University. The beautiful “Miss Bliss” met the love of her life, supervising teacher Russell T. Smith, when she was assigned to serve as a student teacher in his classroom. They married Aug. 13, 1966.
