Dani Ford and husband Lucas toiled for days in the heat to complete a huge mural on the wall of the Kings building in Liberty. The Jamestown artist said on June 20 that the bold “Lovin’ Life in Liberty” mural was inspired by the Casey County school colors, and all the activities and things that came to her mind when she thought of Casey County.

A single-vehicle wreck near the Russell/Casey County line last night resulted in a person being flown out. Many details are still unknown at this time, but WJRS News learned from the scene that a vehicle wrecked in the area just past Dickerson Ridge Road sometime between 8:30 and 8:45 last night and one person from that vehicle was flown out.

KFB President Melton visits Liberty
Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation President Eddie Melton visited Liberty and expressed his concern over the loss of active farmland in Kentucky. At the June 12 Liberty-Casey County Chamber of Commerce luncheon, he said that while the Farm Bureau did not want to tell people what to do with their land, it also would like to support and help keep farmland being farmed. He expressed concern that if the loss continues, America would no longer be able to feed itself.
