Voluntary evacuations advised near Plattsmouth, sand bags placed around water, wastewater facilities
(Plattsmouth) -- Voluntary evacuations have been issued for parts of Cass County in Nebraska as floodwaters from the Missouri River continue to rise. Cass County Emergency Management has called for voluntary evacuations of the Linder Lakes RV Park, the Merritt's Beach RV Park, Rock Bluff RV Park, and any houses along Beach Road. Flood warnings remain in effect up and down the Missouri River as floodwaters from northwest Iowa and southeast South Dakota move downstream. Chad Korte is the Cass County EMA Director. Korte tells KMA News they are currently monitoring much of the eastern portion of the county, with their focus around Beach Road due to some lingering impacts of the 2019 Missouri River flooding.
