    A$AP Rocky — “Highjack”

A$AP Rocky is back with a new track. After teaming up with the likes of Denzel Curry, Future and Metro Boomin, Flacko Jodye teams up with Jessica Pratt for “Highjack.”

Rocky takes the opportunity to address those who want what he’s got and more. “Talk to God before I go to sleep, he hit me right back,” Rocky raps on the track. “He said ‘Stay calm, put your trust in me, you on the right path’ / These n-ggas want my wife bad / The people want my next track / The coppers want my Black ass / F-cked up, but it’s like that.”

The song arrives on a special day. After all, Rocky spent the day celebrating his son Riot’s first birthday. But it also seems to be a sign of things to come. Some believe this could be a single from the rapper’s forthcoming album. If so, it would be his first LP since 2018’s Testing .

Last year, Rocky said the project would explore experimentation. “I’ve been really experimenting as usual and what I like about this is it feels like my best work yet,” he told DAZED . “I want to leave expectations wide and open, I don’t want to tell you what to expect. I just want people to experience it how they do naturally.”

    Big Sean — “On Up”

Big Sean is gearing up for his new album Better Me Than You with the release of his newest single, “On Up.” The Detroit spitter says it’s an ode to his son Noah and their bond.

“I look into my son’s eyes and still see his innocence / I see my inner child in him, it’s still the remnants,” he raps on the track. “Will he lose it to the world? Is it imminent? / Or is it something that me and his momma had instilled in him?”

Sean carries this theme across with the song’s music video. Lawrence Lamont, Noah’s godparent, also directed the visual, which is a view of the world through a child’s eyes. Noah’s mother, Jhené Aiko, appears in the smile-filled music video.

“Hopefully one Day Noah will look back n see how adored he is by his family,” Sean wrote on social media. “This video doesn’t even show a fraction of that honestly. My side of the family being from Detroit don’t get to spend as much time with Noah, but glad they were here for this piece. Love to all the parents, grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, etc that make it happen!”

    Saweetie — “My Best”

Saweetie is still celebrating her “NANi” success, but the “Icy Girl” keeps the momentum rolling with her newest single, “My Best.”

Over a thumping instrumental, the California rapper rhymes about her journey. “I sacrificed everything taking a chance, now look what we got / I’ll do it again and again and again; I’m taking my shots.”

Saweetie takes a trip down memory lane in the song’s music video too. She co-directed the visual with Waterwippinevan. In it, the “Icy Girl” takes over her high school, rapping in the gym, a classroom, and the cafeteria. She even shows off her name in the “Athlete of the Year” banner.

Saweetie has had a busy year. Prior to “My Best,” the North Cali rhymer dropped “NANi,” “Richtivities,” and “Do It For The Bay” with P-Lo. She also joined Diljit Dosanjh and IVE on a couple of global collaborations.

Killer Mike — Michael & The Midnight Revival, Songs for Sinners and Saints

Fresh off the Grammy-winning Michael , Killer Mike unleashes a new body of work, Michael & The Mighty Midnight Revival, Songs for Sinners and Saints .

Anthony Hamilton, Offset, Blxst, Key Glock, and Project Pat lend their voices. Meanwhile, DJ Paul, Cutmaster Swiff, Tec Beatz, Cory Henry, Cuz Lightyear, and more lend production.

“When I was growing up, an important part of church service was people having the opportunity to stand up and give public testimony on their trials, tribulations, and triumphs,” he wrote on Instagram.

“After the celebratory atmosphere that followed MICHAEL I was reminded that tribulations never cease, but God is always with me and this is a testimonial of my tumultuous times, my trials, and my continued triumph in spite of doubt, outright hate, and fear.”
